HTC: Hero-Update

The Taiwanese manufacturer HTC has previously promised to provide an update to its flagship Hero-androids to version 2.0. Now the company is obviously a step further and seems to bring a version for Android 2.1 out want to. Android 2.1 is not such a leap as from 1.5 to 1.6, but only fixes several minor bugs that were discovered in the Eclair that version 2.0.

Apparently HTC has managed to adapt its user interface completely Sense of Android 2.1, because the screenshots show that the differences of the Hero to version 1.5 are only marginally known. When the new version will be available is not fixed yet, even through the changes, there is no precise information.

The HTC Hero is mainly served by the 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen (320×480 pixels). It’s equipped with HSDPA and HSUPA, WiFi, Bluetooth, a GPS receiver, a digital compass and a 5-megapixel camera. There is a 3.5-millimeter jack for standard headphones and a slot for microSD cards. With the new interface HTC Sense seven startup screens of shortcuts can be individualized to the frequently used functions or widgets that can be downloaded through the Android Market.
